Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, a blonde in an electric blue suit, stood out in a sea of black yarmulkes.
“Israel may be on the front lines,” she said. “It faces a common threat to our traditions, our values, our beliefs, and it should be our common cause.”
Clinton stood by her actions in the aftermath of former President Clinton’s admission that he had an affair, including presumably her decision to stay in the marriage.
“I am very grateful that I had a grounding in faith that gave me the courage and the strength to do what I thought was right, regardless of what the world thought,” Clinton said during a forum where the three leading Democratic presidential candidates talked about faith and values.
“I’m not sure I would have gotten through it without my faith,” she said in response to a question about how she dealt with the infidelity.
Candidates Clinton, Obama & Edwards talk about faith, in a very insightful interview forum.
“The United States is a country built by immigrants, but our laws are tearing legal immigrant families apart,” said Senator Clinton. “Hundreds of thousands of lawful permanent residents have been waiting for years to be reunited with their spouses and children due to visa backlogs. These are taxpaying, law-abiding residents. These are people who otherwise would be admitted into this country, but they are forced to wait because of a tragic numbers game. It is unconscionable that they are being forced to choose between their family and their newly adopted country.”
Here is an Israeli Television reporter’s video from February, prompting Senator Clinton’s first public statements on Israel after declaring her candidacy for President, maintaining her strong constant support.
